On the occasion of World Choral Day, the Styrian Choral Association and the Austrian Choral Association hosted the international choral festival "Voices of Spirit" in Graz on December 6 and 7, 2014. Under the artistic direction of Franz M. Herzog, around 15 top-class Austrian and international choirs performed, transforming Graz into a city of sound for a weekend.

A special highlight was the performance of the two-time Grammy winner Soweto Gospel Choir as well as workshops, open singings and the participation of first-class local ensembles such as coro siamo, Cantanima and enineofour.

The festival took up the global ideas of World Choral Day – solidarity, peace and understanding through singing together – and thereby sent a strong musical message in the human rights city of Graz.
